Solis is developed and published by Ben Davin, Sweden. Contact: hello@trysolis.app.
No account, no advertising, and no cross-app tracking. Solis uses two processors: RevenueCat, so your purchase survives reinstalls and follows you to your other devices (section 5), and PostHog, for product analytics (section 6). Your locations, searches, and camera never leave your device, and nothing is shared with third-party AI systems.
With your permission via iOS prompts, Solis uses your camera (for the AR overlay; never recorded or transmitted) and your location while in use (to calculate the sun's path). Your preferences and recent searches are stored only on your device. Lawful basis under GDPR: performance of the service you requested (Art 6(1)(b)) and your iOS-level consent (Art 6(1)(a)).
Everything except your purchase record and the usage events in section 6 stays on your device and is deleted when you uninstall Solis. Purchase records are retained by RevenueCat and Apple for as long as needed to honour your access. To have your purchase record or your usage events erased, contact hello@trysolis.app with your Support ID (Settings › Purchase).
Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card, name, or address. To validate your purchase and restore it on your other devices, Solis sends a pseudonymous app user ID and your App Store purchase receipt to RevenueCat, Inc., acting as our processor under their privacy policy. This is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Lawful basis under GDPR: performance of our contract with you (Art 6(1)(b)).
To understand which parts of Solis are used and where people get stuck, Solis sends anonymous usage events to PostHog, Inc., acting as our processor under their privacy policy, with data stored in the European Union. These events record actions, not content: which tab you opened, whether you tapped a locked date, whether a price was shown and dismissed, how long an AR session lasted, and whether you granted a permission. They are keyed to the same pseudonymous app user ID as section 5.
They contain no coordinates, no place names, no search text, and no dates, and Solis instructs PostHog not to derive a location from your IP address. Solis records no screenshots and no video of your screen. None of this is used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Lawful basis under GDPR: our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app (Art 6(1)(f)). You may object at any time by writing to hello@trysolis.app with your Support ID.
Map tiles, reverse-geocoding, ARKit, Core Location, and StoreKit purchase queries are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy terms.
EU/EEA and UK users have the rights of information, access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, and freedom from solely automated decisions. Because Solis stores everything but your purchase record and your usage events on-device, deleting the app exercises erasure for that data. For your purchase record, your usage events, or any other request, contact hello@trysolis.app.
You may complain to Sweden's IMY, your local EU/EEA data protection authority, or the UK's ICO.
Solis is suitable for all ages. We collect no data from any user beyond the purchase record and the usage events described above, and none of it is used for advertising or profiling.
